Farson lies at the intersection of U.S. 191 and Wyoming Highway 28 (the South Pass Highway). It is 40 miles north of Rock Springs and approximately 45 miles southwest of South Pass. Jackson Hole is 140 miles North of Farson. The biggest sand dunes are in the Killpecker Dune Field which begins several miles east of the town of Farson-Eden. They are located about 34 minutes from Farson. Big Sandy Reservoir near Farson, WY is a popular spot for windsurfing due to its steady northwest winds, especially during the summer months.
